Which are the Japanese investment banks?? please post a list of all of them. Only investment banks. thanks?
Hi!! I am a fund manager in India and looking to raise fund to invest in Indian markets so i am considering to raise fund from Japan as the interest rates are low in Japan. So please suggest me some Japanese Investment banks that could provide me capital for my company to invest in Indian Stock Market. thanks in Advance
So your professional opinion is that the “carry trade” is a good idea and you manage a fund, but you can’t even figure out how to get a list of investment banks (BTW – investment banks aren’t banks that lend you money for investments, they are banks that underwrite securities). And you are going on Yahoo to try to find them.
a) Why do you think the carry trade is a good idea?
b) What do you think are your chances of getting Japanese investment (notoriously difficult because the Japaenese love to keep their money at home and don’t trust foreigners much)?
I have serious trouble believing that you are a fund manager of a real fund anywhere.

Fixed Investment $58.94 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Fixed investment in economics refers to investment in fixed capital, i.e. tangible capital goods (real means of production or residential buildings), or to the replacement of depreciated capital goods which have been scrapped. Thus, fixed investment is investment in physical assets such as machinery, land, buildings, installations, vehicles, or technology. Normally, a company balance sheet will state both the amount of expenditure on fixed assets during the quarter or year, and the total value of the stock of fixed assets owned. Fixed investment contrasts with investments in labour, ongoing operating expenses, materials or financial assets. Financial assets may also be held for a fixed term (for example, bonds) but they are not usually called fixed investment because they do not involve the purchase of physical fixed assets. The more usual term for such financial investments is fixedterm investments. Bank deposits committed for a fixed term such as one or two years in a savings account are similarly called fixedterm deposits. Determinants of Investment in Transition Economies $101.96 Investment has been found to be a significant determinant of growth. This study analyses the effects of institutions and transition progress on investment rates of transition economies since the collapse of the Socialist Bloc. Political institution is measured by the Freedom Houses Political Rights and Civil Liberties indexes; economic institution is proxied by the Index of Economic Freedom compiled by the Heritage Foundation; and transition progress is documented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Developments transition index. Panel data estimation techniques are applied and the results show that institutions and transition progress have expected and significant effect on investment rates of transition economies. However, it is the progress in all aspects of economic freedom that matters; just some individual economic freedom measures are significant marginally. Besides, as conditioning variables, growth, saving and financial development (liquid liabilities as of GDP) are also found to have significant and positive effect on investment in transition economies. This study highlights the indirect effect of institutions on economic growth via investment. Agriculture Investment Sourcebook $29.79 Investing to promote agricultural growth and poverty reduction is a central pillar of the World Bank’s current rural strategy, Reaching the Rural Poor (2003). One major thrust of the strategy outlines the priorities and the approaches that the public sector, private sector, and civil society can employ to enhance productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural sector in ways that reduce the rural poverty and sustain the natural resource base. These actions involve a rich mixture of science, technology, people, communication, management, learning, research, capacity building, institutional development, and grassroots participation. This Sourcebook addresses how to implement the rural strategy, by sharing information on investment options and identifying innovative approaches that will aid the design of future lending programs for agriculture. It provides generic good practices and many examples that demonstrate investment in agriculture can provide rewarding and sustainable returns to development efforts. It is divided into eleven self-contained modules. Each module contains three different types of subunits that can also be stand-alone documents: I. Module Overview, II. Agricultural Investment Notes, III. Innovative Activity Profiles. The stand-alone nature of the subunits allows flexibility and adaptability of the material, as well selected readings and web links are provided for readers who seek more in-depth information. The Sourcebook draws on a wide range of experience from donor agencies, governments, institutions, and other groups active in agricultural development. It is an invaluable reference tool for policy makers, professionals, academics and students, and anyone with an interest in agricultural investments. |
