Harold Perrineau was born in Brooklyn, NY in August of 1963. He studied music and theater at the Shenandoah Conservatory in Virginia. He has appeared in numerous television shows and films over the last two decades.
Most notable are his portrayal of wheelchair bound inmate Augustus Hill in HBO's Oz and his role of Link, the Zion hovercraft pilot from the Matrix trilogy.
In Lost Harold Perrineau plays Michael Dawson, one of the original survivors of the Oceanic 815 plane crash. Michael and son, Walt, were major characters in the first and second season of the show, as the survivors began to unravel the mysteries of the island. Michael and Walt eventually were able to escape the island, under dubious circumstances. In season four Michael made a dramatic return, though his motives are shrouded in mystery.
