Daniel Dae Kim
Daniel Dae Kim as Jin Kwon
Daniel Dae Kim was born in South Korea in August of 1968. He grew up in Pennsylvania and earned a BA from Haverford College/Bryn Mawr College in Theatre and Political Science. He later earned an MFA from the Graduate Acting program at New York University.
His work consisted mostly of small roles in television and feature films before landing the part of Jin Kwon in Lost.
Daniel Dae Kim plays Jin Kwon on Lost, a survivor of the Oceanic 815 plane crash. Jin's wife, Sun, also survived the crash. Jin was born poor in Korea and, after falling in love with Jin, he was brought into his father-in-law's business, serving as Sun's dad's personal 'goon'. Jin speaks very little English, relying on his wife to translate much of his communication with the other islanders.
